February

I am really happy it's the end of this short month.  We've been hit with some illnesses that need just leave.  The end of February means it's almost March and warmer weather and baseball are just around the corner.  Since we've been shut-ins due to the cold there hasn't been much to talk about, but that doesn't mean we don't have cute pictures!  Here is February through my phone.

On this snowy, last day of the month I am really looking forward to warmer weekends and more fun time spent playing outside.

The Flu

It has hit our house.  Just as we were getting over RSV and colds, the flu snuck in.  Thankfully, I see to be the only one affected by it.

The good news is that we have nothing planned for this weekend, and it's the weekend.  Also, there is a winter storm headed our way.

Scott has me banished me to the bedroom.  I'm stuck back here listening to them play.  As much as I enjoy a good nap, missing out on the boys playing is really hard.

Hopefully, this is just a 24 hour bug.

Gabriel's Birthday Party

We celebrated Gabriel's birthday the weekend after his birthday.  Initially we were planning a baptism over the weekend as well and it just made sense to do it all at once.  But with the lovely, RSV hanging around our house things have been pushed back. We didn't want that to stop Gabe from having a real birthday party, even if it was just family.

Pre-party cleaning
We did decide to have a low key birthday party this year.  He is 2, he had no clue what was really going on.  He did love opening all the presents and has been playing with them all.  We went with a construction theme party.  The cake was awesome.  I can't believe how awesome it turned out.

One of the best gifts he received was a remote controlled blue F150 truck.  He loved it.

He wasn't too sure what all the singing was about and enjoyed a few bites of his cake.  Thankfully, he doesn't get much sugar and when he does he only eats a little bit.
He had some help from Zio Andrew putting together his new Cars lego set and the new track to go with his airport.  This was definitely a car/truck theme birthday.

And what party would be complete with out a cute, 3 month old Bennett.  He really is looking like my dad's mini-me.  The lighting isn't great but there is a pretty strong resemblance.

RSV

It's official, the nasty, RSV has entered out house.  Gabriel was the first to get a cold, thanks to a kid at daycare having an infection.  His cold started showing signs on Saturday.  Then Sunday, for his two year old pictures, it came out in full force.  Thankfully, Kelly, our photographer was a champ dealing with his two year old tantrums.

Then later that day, Bennett started coughing.  Once Monday rolled around Gabriel went to the doctor and came out with a 101 fever.  Scott was on jury duty on Monday, but was released early and met us at the doctor.  Since Scott was feeling sick, he and Gabriel enjoyed napping all Monday afternoon.

The boys stayed home from daycare Tuesday and Gabriel was a whole new kid.  Bennett, on the other hand, was coughing more and more.  On Gabriel's birthday, Wednesday, Gabe was back to normal and Bennett had a rough day.

Today, Thursday, Bennett went to the doctor and it took 1 minute for his RSV test to show positive.  It usually takes 15 minutes for the results to fully show up.  The good news is that Bennett's lungs sounded good and his cough was the worst part.

Hopefully, with a lot of rest and cuddles B will be back to his smiley self soon.

2

Gabriel turned 2 today.  I think he had a pretty good birthday.  Gabe woke up feeling much better than the previous 2 days.  We've had a cold/flu bug going through the house.  When Gabriel opened his door he was greeted with balloons.

Scott and I got up early so we could make breakfast tacos for us.  Gabriel loves to build his own taco.  After breakfast Gabe opened a few presents and was off to Miss Mary's house for the day.  Mary had some cupcakes for the boys at lunch to celebrate Gabe's birthday.

I picked up the boys and we headed to Noodles and Company for dinner.  Gabe had some Mac and Cheese and even had a surprise visit from Aunt Michelle.

After dinner we went to The Cup.  We allowed Gabe to have his own cupcake.  Since he rarely eats sweets, he took 2 or 3 bites of the frosting and was done.  More for me.

That little boy was so happy to come home and FaceTime with Grandpa Ron and Aunt Jeni and his cousins.  He had a great birthday and even more celebration to come this weekend when Grammie and Grandpa John and Zio Andrew arrive.

Super Bowl 2015

We didn't have a crazy party, we didn't care about the teams either.  We just had Scott's parents and sister over at our house to watch the game and play with the boys.  We had a great afternoon playing and watching a decent Super Bowl.

Bennett had a great pregame nap in his football gear.
