Zoo

We went on our first trip of the year to the zoo.  We went later in the day on Saturday and because it was the nice day of the weekend all of St. Louis was there.  We parked past the Boat House and walked all the way.  Then, with Bennett in the Baby Bjorn and Gabe in the wagon we tried to see as much as we could before becoming completely exhausted.
This is how we roll at the zoo
When we arrived we went straight to the River's End to find the elephants and hippos.  They are a huge crowd pleaser and they did not disappoint.  The hippos were hanging out away from the window.  We watched them come up the surface a few times. I think Gabe could have stayed and watched the elephants eating and playing in the water for hours on end.  But we had to check out the seals and monkeys.

Elephants are a fan favorite
The seals were busy putting on a show by the time we go to them.  So a quick bite to eat and it was off to the monkeys.  Always a lot of people hanging around there.  The monkeys put on a show and swung around.  By the time we finished the monkeys we were all tired, so we hiked all the way back to the car.  The boys were out within seconds of driving away...so Scott and I snuck to Ted Drewes and enjoyed the quiet ride home.

Opening Day

Nothing is better than Opening Day in St. Louis....nothing.  It really is an unofficial holiday.  Most people work half day then head to the stadium or the nearest bar.

The Cardinal Hall of Famers show up for a trip around the stadium.  Of course, that is followed by the Budweiser Clydesdales trotting around.

Scott and I had the privilege to go the year Gabe was born.  And look forward to future years when we can go again.  In the mean time, we get to enjoy dressing the boys up in their Cardinal gear and cheering on the birds from home.

First Run

Scott took Bennett on his first run in the jogging stroller with Gabriel.  Since Bennett isn't sitting on his own just yet, I wasn't sure how he'd fair.

We got both boys buckled in and then Scott quickly got ready to go.  Gabe was ok sitting next to B.  He tried to hold his hand and gently patted B on the leg.

Since we had to pump up the tires before leaving both grew a little restless.  However, once they arrived at the playground, one was sleeping soundly and the other was ready to play.

A very successful first run.

5 Months

Bennett is 5 months and trying so hard to catch up to his big brother.  We don't have a check up this month so I'm not 100% on his stats.  But if I had to guess he is around 17lbs and probably 28inches.

A week before he turned 5 months he started rolling over from back to tummy.  He now consistently rolls to his tummy and scoots around.  He is really thinking he is crawling.

Sup?
Bennett still loves to smile at everyone and is still a very easy going baby.  He does have his days when he doesn't like eating from bottles, but that is the extent of his fussiness.  We think teething might start soon, but we'll get a better idea after his 6 month appointment.

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter this year.  Gabe woke us up bright and early to check out what the Easter Bunny brought him.  I'm pretty Scott and I were more excited to see his reactions than anything else.  He really didn't have a clue what/who the Easter Bunny was this year.

Bennett slowly made his appearance a little later in the morning and we were extremely grateful for that.

After opening baskets we took the boys down to Wilmore Park to burn off some energy and candy.  Gabriel continues to amaze us with how strong he is and how easy climbing is to him.

Just hanging out

After the playground we headed home for bath, cleaning and cooking.  Scott's parents and sister came over for late lunch/early dinner.  We had a lot to eat and the boys looked wonderful in their outfits.
