Little Gym

I signed Gabe up for an introductory class at the Little Gym way back in mid February.  Due to illnesses and timing we didn't get to go until this past Saturday.

I had a vague idea of what to expect, but really didn't know since every place is different.  We arrived early, we took a quick tour and then class started.  We worked on the Vestibular System during class.  This system works on the children's sense of balance.  We did lots of somersaults, hanging from the uneven bars and spinning.

Gabe wasn't too sure about playing with bubbles at first but quickly warmed up to it.  He seemed to have a lot of fun during the free time and running around.  We even learned some sign language, we haven't practiced that yet.

Gabe had a lot of fun and was exhausted.  Can't wait to sign him up for more.

St. Patrick's Day

Top of the morning or afternoon, as you can tell we don't celebrate St. Patrick's day in our house.  There hasn't been too much going as of late.  We've been enjoying relaxing weekends, dodging random snow storms/predictions in March and recovering for whatever entered our house in February.  I don't think any of us are back to 100% after that one.

So we've been getting out of the few days it's been really warm out and enjoying the relaxing weekends.
We know it will be very busy once the weather turns.  More outside fun time is in our future.

In the mean time, here are some cute pics of Gabe eating spaghetti, because that's what you do on St. Patrick's Day.

Fish Fry Friday's

We have not been the best Catholic's this Lent.  For the last 4 years, Scott and I have met up with Zipf at St. Gabriel's for the Friday Fish Fry's.  We even took Gabe last year when he was 11 days old, determination to go on our my part.

This year we have scheduled things on Friday nights and just cannot make it down to the Fish Fry like we hoped.  We've had dinner with Scott's parents and then the next 2 weekends I will become a regular at Bella Vino.  I'll have my LU Happy Hour this week and the following week, we have dinner with friends out there.  Not that I'm complaining one bit, I look forward to trying something new each time.

We did manage to make it to St. Gabriel's for the very first Fish Fry this year.  We met up with Zipf in line, caught up with St. Gabe's people from my past and had a great, cheap dinner.
Waiting for dinner
Gabe was in heaven with my grilled cheese sandwich.  He ate more of it than I did.  He even sampled some mac and cheese off my plate.  Overall he ate very well.

It wouldn't be Fish Fry Season without a stop at the Birch's on our way back to the car.  After a quick chat we were headed home with a very sleepy boy.  Fish Fry's are just too much fun.

13 Months

We are over a year and growing more than ever.  We had our first real illness this past month.  A touch of the flu hit our house and Gabe did not miss out on it.  I do think that all his fun at the Magic House and Science Center kick started everything for us.

But since then, we've had a few days of playing outside and going for walks.  Gabe really likes being in the stroller and going on walks.  He is getting better with feeding himself and letting us know what he wants to eat.

He has his first Little Gym class coming up soon.  I can't wait to see how he likes it.

Here is just a little of what Gabe is into these days:

Likes:
Loves Grilled Cheese
Gerber Cheese puffs
Peas

Spaghetti Noodles
His snugly blankets
Snugly with Reily
His Popper (thanks Birch's)

Peas Please

The other night for dinner I made a bag of mixed veggies.  I let them cool and gave Gabe a handful.  He then began to pick out only the peas.  I was so happy he was eating his veggies that I went ahead and picked some out for him.  Later that night he wanted more, Scott went through the bowl sorting the peas and other veggies.
