Preschool Christmas

Our preschool has a wonderful Christmas breakfast and performance every year.  This year we had two boys performing.  We arrived early and the kids just ran around until it was time to eat.  The boys loved introducing us to their friends and we were able to meet some new parents.  Even Thomas thought it was a lot of fun.

Waiting to preform for everyone.

Time for jingle bells
Even Santa showed up with gifts

The best part of the preschool party was for one hour I had free babysitting.  They kept Thomas for an hour, along with the other boys, so I could finish my Christmas shopping and grocery shopping.  Thomas did so well at preschool, I may try to sign him up for next year, just kidding, maybe.

Halloween Party

Scott and I were able to both help at the preschool Halloween party.  The boys were pretty excited that both parents were there.  I helped in Bennett’s room and loved seeing all the kids different costumes.  Plus, watching them trick or treat around the school and sing for the workers is so cute.  The boys had been working hard on their Halloween songs all October.  If you spent any time with them you heard "Halloween is Coming" over and over.

Since we had driven back from San Antonio the day before the party, the boys were exhausted, especially Bennett and Thomas.  Bennett was so tired and didn’t feel great, we left school early.  Gabriel and Scott had a lot of fun playing games.  Gabriel was beyond excited that he got to have his Dad in his classroom.

We love our preschool and are so happy both boys are comfortable there.

Boo at the Zoo

Gabriel and Bennett's school has a class outing to the Zoo for Halloween.  This was our first year to go and we had so much fun.  The boys were able to play, out of school, with their friends and Scott and I were able to see the parents for more than just a quick pick up and drop offs.  The weather was perfect and the Zoo did not disappoint.
Trying to get a class picture with the Zoo lights.
Bennett was listening to story time about spiders.  It was great how the Zoo talked about animals for the kids to learn and incorporate Halloween.
Thomas did great checking everything out.
Casting a spell into the witch's cauldron.
Harry and Bennett always together.  These two have so much fun!

Halloween crafting

Besides the usual pumpkin carving, I decided that the boys should also paint some pumpkins for decoration. My hopes were that they wouldn't play with my holiday decor.  And it actually worked.  We did have fun as well. A few rocks that had been collected were painted as well.  The boys had hunted long and hard for the perfect rocks to paint.

Great American Eclipse 2017

We witnessed the Eclipse of 2017.  It was amazing.  I was not up on the hype, however I was converted.  We were lucky enough to be in the path of totality, which means it was complete dark for a little over 1 minute by our house.

Scott and I decided that we wanted to share this with the boys.  They were in school and had made special glasses to watch it with their classes.  We went up to the school after lunch and would take turns with the teachers to go outside and watch.

A few minutes before totality the bugs started creeping like it was dusk.  The street lights and building lights came on.  The temperature started to drop.  Then we had our one minute to show the kids and watch ourselves.  It was an amazing thing to see and I'm very happy we were able to share this with the boys.

First Day of School

I had been counting down the days till the boys went to school since we moved.  It was a weird summer with moving and travelling to Chicago and San Antonio.  It was also, my firs summer staying home with the boys.  We made the most of me going to the Y in the mornings, finding new playgrounds and playing in the new backyard.  But it was a long summer.  NExt summer will be better planned and organized.

So when the first day of school rolled around I was ready, and so were the boys.  This year Bennett is starting preschool 3 days a week and Gabriel is going 5 days.  They are going to the same school, but I made sure they were not in the same class.  I"m hoping Bennett will learn on his own and make his own friends.

We had to get our first day pictures in.
