Lone Elk Park

Ever since I moved back to STL I have been wanting to check out Lone Elk Park.  I'm not sure why, probably because I had never been and you drive through and see animals.  A less insane version on Grants Farm.  So while we were in recovering from the flu, I knew the boys needed out of the house, but I couldn't do too much.  We drove down to check it out.  The first trip was a bust, we only saw a deer or 2.  Our second trip was prefect.  We saw all the bison, some deer and geese.  Just enough for it to be memorable for Gabriel.  Bennett wasn't too sure about it all and probably didn't get the best view from his car seat.

Swimming

We joined the Y way back in September and since then we've been taking advantage of Sunday morning swims.  It has been a great way for the boys to burn energy during the cold winter months.  And even better, we get home in time for lunch then straight to naps.  It's awesome.  While I don't have any picture of them actually swimming (Scott and I are in the water with them), they are super cute when they are excited to get in the water and waiting for us.

March

March was a tough month for us.  We all got sick.  Some of us worse than others, but overall it was a very long month.  I'm happy it's over.

It all started on March 17.  It was cute when Bennett feel asleep on the kitchen table before dinner.

But then he didn't go to day care the next day.  And by Saturday we were in the ER with a 105 fever.
Poor little guy

It quickly went down with extra medicine thankfully.  However, he was still out of commission until Wednesday(3/23).

On Monday (3/21) Gabriel was sent home from daycare with a 102 fever.  Gabe wasn't as run down as Bennett was through out the entire illness.

That wasn't much fun once Scott and I started feeling bad.  I was hit Wednesday (3/23), Scott was hit Thursday.  On Thursday morning I was calling in help.  It was needed, at least to disinfect the entire house.

Thankfully, my awesome MIL was able to help out and Scott and I were able to go to the doctor(both tested negative for flu and strep(somehow?)) .  I was pretty much out of commission until the following Monday (3/28).
Waiting for the doctor
I somehow made it in to work, the boys went back to daycare and Scott was able to have the house to himself and sleep.  He didn't make it back into the office until 3/30.  It was a very long 10 days for all of us.  We are finally back to normal and ready for spring, windows open and lots and lots of outside time.

Easter 2016

While our actual Easter day was very boring due to the flu.  The Easter Bunny did not disappoint.  Here are our Easter morning pictures, please ignore how I look and focus on Bennett.

Excited for M&Ms and Berenstein Bear books

First Haircut

Bennett finally had his first haircut at 16 months.  I think we could have gone a little longer without the haircut, but we were going to have family pictures and he could use a trim.  But just when you think this kid could not get any cuter, wow.  Enjoy the pictures.

He was a little unsure of everything

Wow, look at this kid.  We did love bubbles!

Playgrounds

We have been extremely lucky, weather wise, the last few weekends.  So much so that we have been hitting up playgrounds most mornings and if we are lucky, after naps too.

Mom and Boys Outing

Prior to the "plague" affecting our house, I took the boys to the Magic House for some fun.  Scott needed to get some work done and it was just easier to burn some energy outside the house.  I thought we left the house early enough to beat the crowds, wow was I wrong.  Once we arrived it was packed.  There were birthday parties and an insane amount of parents/grandparents there.  I'm kinda impressed with myself that I didn't lose either boy.

We took advantage of the Member Entrance and found a few new areas to play in, sand, Good Night Moon house and an easy escape from the cold.  This was Bennett's first trip to the Magic House and he loved every minute of it.  We have gone back since - Scott took the boys this past weekend and no one has gotten sick(YAY!).

Learning about energy

Earlier in the week he didn't make it that high!
